NEW — Aug. 22, 2026: Chappell Roan spent Friday night doing what an off-duty pop star at a drag show should do: dancing, cheering and tipping the performers.

Video published by TMZ Saturday evening shows Roan near the stage at The Precinct in downtown Los Angeles, wearing a flowing white dress and matching heels. She can be seen jumping along with the acts, handing cash to performers and speaking with one of them after a number.

The crowd got an unofficial bonus act

Roan did not take over the stage or turn the night into an impromptu concert. The clip shows her participating as an enthusiastic audience member, which is both the correct etiquette and a minor miracle in an era when famous people can make a grocery-store entrance feel like a product launch.

TMZ identified the venue as The Precinct, a downtown bar and nightclub that regularly hosts drag performances. The outlet said the footage was recorded Friday, Aug. 21, and published it at 6:21 p.m. Pacific time Saturday.

No performer names or totals for Roan's tips were included in the report, so any more precise accounting would be guesswork. What the video supports is simpler: she was present, she danced through the acts, and she put money in performers' hands.

The appearance fits her long-running support for LGBTQ+ causes

The night out arrives less than two weeks after Roan announced a two-night Los Angeles benefit scheduled for Oct. 21 and 22. NME reported that the event, called the Super Graphic Spectacular, will raise money for organizations supporting transgender youth and LGBTQ+ communities, with drag and dance performers among the guests.

There is no stated connection between that fundraiser and Friday's visit to The Precinct. Still, Roan's support for drag performers and queer spaces is established rather than a brand-new costume pulled from the celebrity closet.

The new footage is a small story, but a pleasant one: a globally recognizable singer went to somebody else's show, respected the performers and remembered the cash. Somewhere, the spirit of every nightclub emcee is nodding approvingly.
