CHVRCHES All the King’s Men is officially on the calendar. The Scottish trio announced the album October 21 for release January 22, 2027, through Futures Music Group, alongside a tour across North America, the UK and Ireland. Those of us who still believe a band announcement deserves a fresh browser tab may now begin the sacred ritual of comparing dates with work obligations.
Stereogum reports that the group reconvened in Glasgow to make the record after working remotely on Screen Violence. The new album includes the previously released Roses and the song Conman, which was performed live earlier this year. The announced North American run opens February 13 in Philadelphia; the schedule continues into May, with Dublin’s 3Olympia listed for April 29.
Hot Press reproduces the band’s announcement and confirms the January release. This is an album-and-tour announcement, rather than a surprise full-album drop. Readers hunting for a new track should make that distinction before clicking through the entire internet and accusing their speakers of withholding the goods. The advance material and the forthcoming album have different release histories.
Our take: a return to making a record together in one city is an interesting creative fact, but it is not a review. We have not heard the full album merely because a release date exists. The useful anticipation lies in what the band chooses to do next, rather than in assigning five stars to the idea that familiar musicians have booked studio time.
For an audience raised on synth hooks and ambitious pop arrangements, a current band can be a reason to keep listening forward. Nostalgia does not have to mean asking the same records to do all the work forever. It can mean recognizing a musical language you enjoy and following the people still finding new things to say with it.
Fans can check the announced itinerary and the relevant venue listings for local details, sale times and changes. No one needs a fabricated guarantee about availability or a prediction about the set list. The confirmed invitation is already clear: a new CHVRCHES record in January and live dates afterward. The calendar may be getting crowded, but at least some of its appointments now have a decent soundtrack.
