The federal government has released another batch of records concerning UFOs—or UAPs, as officials prefer to call them when they want the flying mystery objects to sound like an accounting department.
The fifth collection of records released through the government’s Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System became available on August 7, 2026. It follows four earlier releases that began in May.
The documents are part of a broader effort to make government material involving unidentified anomalous phenomena available to the public.
That does not necessarily mean the records prove extraterrestrial visitors are cruising around Earth and occasionally terrifying military pilots. Many sightings eventually receive ordinary explanations involving balloons, aircraft, atmospheric conditions, camera effects or classified technology.
However, some incidents remain difficult to explain with the information currently available. That lingering uncertainty is precisely why people continue paying attention every time the government opens another dusty cabinet marked ‘probably nothing.’
The newest release includes records and videos connected to decades of reports, investigations and government interest in unexplained objects. Researchers, skeptics and dedicated UFO enthusiasts are now digging through the material for anything genuinely new.
Will the files finally prove we are not alone? Probably not. Will they keep the argument alive at family gatherings, online forums and late-night radio shows? Absolutely.
