Jamie Foxx says his daughter Corinne did far more than protect his privacy during the 2023 medical emergency that nearly killed him—she saved his life.

During an appearance with Corinne on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the 58-year-old actor revisited the brain bleed and stroke that hospitalized him while he was filming in Atlanta. Foxx said a doctor later told him directly that without Corinne’s intervention, he would not be alive.

Corinne described going immediately into caretaker mode while trying to shield her father from a flood of online rumors. Foxx remembers very little of the initial crisis, leaving his family to make urgent decisions while the public speculated about what was happening.

Foxx said he later returned to the hospital to thank roughly 60 nurses involved in his care. He has previously described his survival and rehabilitation as a second chance, but the new conversation places Corinne’s actions at the center of that story.

Humor also became part of his recovery. Foxx recalled joking with hospital staff and slipping into celebrity impressions even when the situation around him was frighteningly serious.

Father and daughter now work together on Beat Shazam. Their joint interview made clear that beneath the game-show banter is a family bond tested by a crisis neither of them expected.
