Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has turned her bullhorn toward Donald Trump, attacking him over soaring fuel prices, the Iran war and what she describes as a broken promise to avoid new wars. It is less a political reconciliation than Godzilla noticing the other monster has stepped on her gas station.
In a recent video, Greene highlighted diesel prices she said had reached $8.49 in California and $6.59 in Georgia. She called the situation “ridiculous” and blamed Trump for failing to control costs while continuing the conflict with Iran.
The MAGA divorce keeps getting louder
Greene resigned from Congress in January after years as one of Trump’s most aggressive defenders. Since then, she has questioned his mental fitness, floated the 25th Amendment and accused him of betraying an antiwar message that helped build his coalition.
The criticism lands because Greene cannot be dismissed as a lifelong liberal or a shy institutional Republican. She spent years helping make MAGA’s language harsher, its conspiracies more mainstream and its loyalty tests more absolute. Now the loyalty machine is chewing on one of its former mechanics.
The fuel pain is not imaginary
The Iran conflict has pushed energy costs sharply higher, adding pressure to families and businesses already tired of being told that painful prices are either temporary, somebody else’s fault or a beautiful sign of strength. Greene’s delivery remains theatrical, but the household bills underneath it are real.
Greene deserves no medal for discovering accountability after leaving office. But when even a former MAGA mascot is yelling that the emperor’s motorcade is running on unaffordable fuel, the administration has a problem larger than one extremely online ex-congresswoman.
