Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported to the United Kingdom, completing the immigration case that began with his arrest in New Orleans this week.
The Department of Homeland Security says the British provocateur entered the United States legally in May 2019 but overstayed his authorized visit. An immigration judge issued a final removal order July 22 after he failed to appear for a hearing.
Yiannopoulos was detained Thursday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and initially held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The deportation is a significant new development beyond his previously reported detention. Representatives for Yiannopoulos had not issued a detailed response.
