Nearly 300 dogs invaded a Nevada water park and set a Guinness World Record for the most dogs attending a pool party. The official count was 296 poodle mixes, which is also roughly the number required to transform “chlorine smell” into a nostalgic memory.

Doodlepalooza 2026 gathered dogs and their families at Cowabunga Canyon Vegas for swimming, splashing and the kind of group photo in which nobody looked at the same camera.

The record beat a Florida dog party

A Guinness World Records adjudicator confirmed the total. The previous mark belonged to a May event organized by Chewy in Florida, where 277 dogs attended. Nevada therefore claimed the title by 19 dogs and approximately 76 pounds of absorbed pool water.

Organizers timed the event to National Dog Week. The water park offered shallow areas, a wave pool and splash zones suitable for dogs with different comfort levels. Some charged into the water. Others maintained the dignified expression of an animal betrayed by everyone it trusted.

The splash also supported rescue work

The event raised funds and awareness for Doodle Rescue USA, which helps poodle mixes needing foster care and permanent homes. Designer mixes can be highly desirable, but popularity does not prevent abandonment, medical needs or families discovering that a smart, energetic coat with legs requires actual work.

UPI reported the record-setting Nevada pool party on September 29, 2026.

The record now belongs to 296 dogs, their humans and one water-filtration system that deserves paid leave. Guinness verified the attendance. The dogs verified that every pool party improves when nobody worries about getting fur in the water.
