Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s final performance is heading to cinemas worldwide on October 28, giving heavy-metal fans the rare opportunity to be told to keep the noise down during a movie built entirely out of noise.
Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning captures the sold-out July 5, 2025 concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. The event reunited the original Black Sabbath lineup—Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward—for the first time in more than 20 years.
The concert became a farewell nobody fully understood yet
The hometown performance was Osbourne’s final appearance before his death 17 days later. He performed a solo set and then joined his Sabbath bandmates, closing a career that helped turn the industrial dread of Birmingham into the foundation of heavy metal.
Sharon Osbourne said the show began with a simple question about what would make her husband happy. His answer was to perform again, thank the fans and say goodbye.
The guest list was basically a metal family tree
Jason Momoa hosted, while Tom Morello served as musical director. Metallica, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Tool, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Gojira and other artists performed, demonstrating how far Sabbath’s influence traveled from four musicians in an English factory city.
Ben Wainwright-Pearce directed the film version for the screen, with sound mixed for Dolby Atmos and 5.1 systems. Tickets go on sale September 24 for the limited global release.
Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios announced the theatrical release on September 16, 2026.
Concert films cannot reproduce being inside a stadium with thousands of people, but they can provide a proper screen, a wall of sound and floors that do not require festival boots. For Gen X, that now qualifies as premium seating.
