Nick Harrison—better known online as The Professor—is taking his mix of music, comedy and feral-childhood memory from the phone screen to the stage as part of the Gen X Takeover Comedy Tour.

The Biloxi lineup includes Kelly Manno, The Real Slim Sherri and Jon Wellington, also known as the Dadbod Veteran. It is essentially the class reunion we actually wanted: fewer name tags, more jokes about cassette tapes and at least one person whose knees make a sound when standing.

Harrison built community out of shared memory

The former educator’s videos blend car performances, wrestling-sized enthusiasm, music and affectionate comedy about growing up Gen X. His audience responded because the material recognizes a generation that spent decades being treated like the unlabeled divider between Boomers and Millennials.

His education background still shapes the act. The Professor does not merely reference an old song; he gives the room permission to remember where they were when it mattered.

The internet act became a live room

ClarkCast discussed Harrison and the September 19 Gen X Takeover appearance, while his broader career was previously profiled by Daily Junk Food.

Social media promised to connect everybody and mostly delivered arguments with strangers. Harrison’s particular trick is using it to get people laughing together in an actual venue. Gen X leaving the house voluntarily is already a strong review.
