Travis Kelce handled a small piece of stadium logistics on Saturday night with the precision of a veteran tight end: spot two excited fans, locate the gloves, recruit a staffer and complete the handoff.

The Kansas City Chiefs star gave his customized playing gloves to two young girls during the team’s August 22 preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, People reported Monday.

A gesture from the field

Video shared by the aunt of one of the girls showed Kelce noticing them waving from the stands at Raymond James Stadium. He waved back, went to the bench, removed his gloves and handed them to a Chiefs employee while pointing out the intended recipients.

The staffer delivered the gloves, and the girls ran back to their seats to inspect the prize. One glove carried the phrase “Heights Native,” while the other said “Killa Trav,” according to People.

Football fans first, Swifties too

The two girls participate in Unleashing Untapped Talents Flag Football, part of NFL Flag. Their aunt wrote that they “eat, sleep & breathe football” and are also Swifties.

That second detail is now unavoidable celebrity-news seasoning: Kelce married Taylor Swift in July. But the moment itself did not require a famous spouse, a press release or a carefully staged camera line. It was a football player recognizing two young football players and making sure the right package reached the right row.

One last preseason stop

Kansas City has one preseason game remaining, scheduled for August 28 against Seattle, before the regular-season home opener against Denver on September 14.

For the girls in Tampa, however, the preseason already produced the sort of souvenir that never ends up in a junk drawer. In an era when celebrity gestures often arrive with three publicists and a branded hashtag, Kelce managed something almost radical: he saw two fans and did something kind.
