Let us begin with the eyeballs: Palm Beach Pete looks so much like Jeffrey Epstein that the internet reacted as if somebody had found a deleted scene from the world’s least comforting reboot.

The man went viral after a stranger filmed him driving on I-95. He later appeared online under the name Palm Beach Pete and addressed the theory directly: he says he is not Jeffrey Epstein. He has since leaned into the resemblance, built a social following and even announced a 2028 run for mayor of Palm Beach.

Is he Epstein?

There is no verified evidence that Palm Beach Pete is Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was officially found dead in federal custody in 2019, and no credible forensic or documentary evidence has established that he survived. A resemblance, even a startling one, does not overturn a death certificate, autopsy findings and identity records.

A brother, secret twin or family member?

Again, there is no verified evidence that Pete is Epstein’s brother, twin or relative. Those theories appear to be based on his face and location, not genealogy, DNA or records. Pete has publicly denied being Epstein, and credible local reporting identifies him as a separate man who became famous because of the comparison.

So what are we looking at?

The most supported answer is the boring one: a doppelgänger who understands branding. Humans are very good at matching faces and very bad at accepting coincidence when the coincidence happens in Palm Beach, drives past a camera and looks like the central villain in an unresolved national scandal.

Still, come on. The hairline. The smile. The geography. If Central Casting sent him to play Epstein in a low-budget cable movie, the director would complain it was too on the nose.

Gen X survived supermarket tabloids that regularly found Elvis at a Kalamazoo car wash, so we know the ritual. Stare at the picture. Say “what the actual hell?” Send it to three friends. Then put the brakes on before resemblance becomes evidence.

Palm Beach Pete may be a lookalike, a performance artist of opportunity, a future mayoral candidate or simply a man who woke up with the internet’s worst famous face. Based on the available evidence, he is not Jeffrey Epstein, his secret twin or his proven relative. He is happenstance with a social-media manager—and honestly, happenstance has never looked creepier.
