Texas authorities reportedly launched boats, sonar equipment and drones after YouTuber Chris Sails allegedly claimed his children had fallen into water. Police say the children were safe with family members the entire time.
According to court documents reported by TMZ, Waller County deputies responded August 16 to a report about a suspicious person jumping onto residents’ cars. An officer allegedly found Sails sitting near a light pole, appearing to pray, before rolling in the roadway.
During questioning, police allege Sails said his children had fallen into a body of water behind his home. Emergency crews began a search before learning the children were unharmed and elsewhere with relatives.
Sails was arrested August 17 on a misdemeanor charge of knowingly making a false statement to law enforcement and released after posting bond the next day. The accusation remains unproven unless established in court.
