Jurors in Lindsay Clancy’s Massachusetts murder trial asked to see bags of pill bottles and the knife she used to injure herself as they continued their second day of deliberations Friday.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington disclosed the request to reporters after leaving the courthouse. ABC News reported that the 12-person jury had been considering the case for roughly five hours when the request emerged.

Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three murder charges in the January 2023 deaths of her three young children. Her defense argues that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and should be found not criminally responsible. Prosecutors contend that she acted intentionally and remains criminally responsible.

The verdict form gives jurors several choices on each count, including not guilty, not guilty for lack of criminal responsibility, first-degree murder, second-degree murder and manslaughter. If convicted of first-degree murder, Clancy could face life in prison without parole; a finding that she was not criminally responsible would send her to a state mental-health facility.
