What remains unresolved: Police are still determining the full circumstances of the shooting. An arrest is not a conviction, and investigators have not declared the case closed.

Tallahassee police announced Monday that a 15-year-old had been arrested in connection with Saturday’s shooting near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium. Twelve people were injured. The new development is the arrest announcement—not a new shooting on Monday.

According to the department’s October 26 update, detectives arrested Anthony Rivers III on Sunday, October 25. Police say he faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and a firearm-possession charge following consultation with the state attorney. These are allegations; this article does not establish guilt.

What the police timeline actually says

The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. October 24 near Perry and Manatee streets. Police’s initial account listed 11 people with gunshot wounds and another person injured while fleeing. Six of the injured were minors. The Monday update specifies that the non-gunshot injury was an ankle injury.

Investigators describe a preceding fight involving people who knew one another. Their preliminary assessment is that none of the victims appears to have been an intended target. Police say additional arrests are possible.

The unanswered questions still matter

That last point deserves attention. An arrest announcement answers one question—whether authorities have identified and taken a suspect into custody. It does not answer every question about how the violence unfolded or establish the responsibility of anyone else.

We have not reviewed an arrest affidavit or court filings for this report. The account of the charges and investigative findings comes from the police release. We are not adding a theory about a gang, a wider plot or a particular motive. None is established by the material reviewed here.

The location matters, too. This was reported near the stadium during homecoming weekend. It should not be rewritten as an attack inside a classroom, or as evidence that everyone involved attended the university. Being near a campus is not proof of student status.

Send evidence to investigators

Police are asking anyone with information to call their dedicated tip line at 850-891-4610. Photos and videos can be supplied through the department’s evidence portal, linked in its official update.

For readers, the useful next developments are documented charging decisions, verified condition updates and further findings from investigators. A stranger’s confident identification in a comment thread is none of those things. Families deserve answers supported by evidence, and the public deserves an account that keeps the dates, injury totals and legal status straight.
